SaaS Product Engineering
We build the product and the platform under it: tenancy, authentication, roles, billing, onboarding, admin, and the operational tooling you need once customers depend on you.
All tenants share the app and database. Rows carry a tenant ID and isolation is enforced in the data layer, for example with PostgreSQL row-level security.
Who is SaaS Product Engineering for?
For founders taking a SaaS from idea to paying customers, or from paying customers to scale.
What do you get?
- A tenancy model chosen for your customers: pool, silo, or a bridge between them
- Authentication, roles and permissions per tenant, with audit logs
- Subscription billing integration and usage metering where needed
- Admin console, onboarding flow, monitoring and runbooks
How do you know it's done?
- Tenant isolation is enforced in the data layer and covered by automated tests
- A customer can sign up, pay and start without your team touching anything
- You can see usage, errors and cost per tenant
How does an engagement run?
- 01
Brief. A few minutes with our intake. Your context arrives before the call does.
- 02
Intro call. Thirty minutes. We ask the hard questions and tell you honestly whether we're the right fit.
- 03
Written scope. Scope, exclusions, milestones and a fixed price per phase, in writing, before any invoice.
- 04
Architecture. Diagrams and decision records you review and approve before the build starts.
- 05
Build. Working software on staging, demoed on a fixed cadence. You see progress, not status reports.
- 06
Handover. Code, infrastructure, docs and runbooks in your accounts. Ongoing support only if you want it.
How is it priced?
By scope. After the call you get a written scope with exclusions, milestones and a fixed price per phase. Payment follows accepted milestones. The budget range you pick in the brief isn't a quote; it helps us suggest a first phase that fits.
Which technologies do you use?
Our usual stack for SaaS Product Engineering. We work with yours when you have one.
- Next.js
- NestJS
- PostgreSQL
- Prisma
- Redis
- AWS ECS
SaaS Product Engineering: questions and answers
Which tenancy model should my SaaS use?
It depends on your customers. We choose between pool (shared infrastructure), silo (dedicated per tenant) or a bridge between the two, based on isolation, compliance and cost, and enforce tenant isolation in the data layer with automated tests.
Do you build billing and onboarding too?
Yes. Subscription billing integration, usage metering where you need it, an onboarding flow and an admin console are part of the build, so a customer can sign up, pay and start without your team touching anything.
Can you take over an existing SaaS codebase?
Yes. Many engagements start with a review of what you already run. We document what we find and work in your repositories and tools.
